Metin + Jamie Engagement, Toronto Public Library, Evergreen Brickworks

Jamie and Metin are a very creative fun couple and they also happen to be our good friends, so we were honoured when they asked us to photograph their wedding and engagement. They sketched story boards for some of their ideas and we ended up in the Toronto Public Library – which was a unique choice and definitely suited their personalities. In between shushing and muffled giggles we managed to bring some of their fun ideas to life just before closure, and then moved on to a more relaxed setting at the Brickworks where we could enjoy gorgeous weather and put some of those interesting props to use.

Tina + Kris Wedding, Rosewater Club, Steam Whistle Brewery, Downtown Toronto

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of Tina and Kris in the heart of downtown Toronto. Tina’s Royal Wedding theme involved estate jewelry, sapphire engagement ring, lace and poof, custom made head band and blue suede kitten heels – how perfect is that?

The boys started their morning doing what they do best – enjoying some great Canadian beer in a relaxing atmosphere of the rustic Steam Whistle Brewery!

After the ceremony at the beautiful Metropolitan United Church, we took a brief walk around the area for some B&G pictures, and finished it all off with a reception at the gorgeous ballroom of the Rosewater Club. Towards the end of the evening we opened up the party booth which was a huge hit and quickly crowded the atrium with fun loving guests anxious to explore our big prop box.

Congratulations guys, it was our pleasure!

Jennifer + Andre Spring Engagement Session, The Esplanade, Toronto

Spring season is finally here, bringing us early blossoms, sunshine and of course feeling of love in the air! Jennifer and Andre wanted to have spring theme engagement and even though it was a little chilly, we had a great time with these two lovebirds. We really wanted to get the urban feel of good old Toronto without going to overly popular crowded places, so we decided to just take a stroll down The Esplanade. Last Saturday I spent an awesome afternoon with our good freinds – Suzie and Jay! They were very excited to do a maternity shoot and of course I used that opportunity to take some pictures of their adorable little girl – Ashima, who loves toy cars and little airplanes, gave me tons of hugs and kisses and clearly will make an amazing big sister! Here are some of my favorite shots – hope you like them.

Here is an item to add to the list of things that we’ve never done before – Expo billboard ads, involving dogs taking a bite out of cash! We were commissioned to shoot a billboard size advertisement for a local robotics company for an expo which they will be attending in March in Orlando, FLA. Our model was Boris, a hilarious french bulldog who was a little too excited with all the commotion. It took quite a bit of trickery, patience, and Boris’ favorite toys to get the shots we needed. In case you were wondering, Boris didn’t actually chew on cash – the bills were shot separately and later layered in Photoshop.

Jen + Alex Wedding, Glen Abbey Golf Club, Oakville

This past Saturday was the wedding of Jen and Alex in Oakville, and considering that October can be a risky month for weddings in Ontario, I have to say that we were actually quite fortunate. Yes it was incredibly windy (especially by the lake!), and yes it was drizzling here and there, but the umbrellas added a little touch of the season, which will definitely make the wedding even more memorable for Jen and Alex in years to come!

We went to take pictures in downtown Oakville in the Trafalgar and Lakeshore area. The guys got there fairly early while Anastassia was with the girls who were getting their makeup done, so we had lots of time to hang out, take groomsmen pictures, throw stones in the water, and enjoy local hot dogs. We even got asked for an interview by a local TV station as we were casually strolling around It’s too bad we don’t have video footage, because one of the groomsmen handled the interview like a boss (you’ll see a picture below)

Hot dogs were immediately followed by Starbucks (how else?), and some more pictures until girls came to join us. Since weather seemed to be getting worse, we had to be VERY efficient with time, so we quickly went through the bridal party pics to ensure we have at least have 30 “rain-free” minutes with the B&G.

The location that Jen and Alex picked was really beautiful. It was a very secluded section of the waterfront (and rain ensured we were alone!) so we got some really lovely frames of the two of them.

Ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Glen Abbey golf course. It would have been nice to spend some time outside there, but rain was a pretty convincing deterrent As the night unfolded, the crowed partied away to various tunes (including some traditional Croatian folk pieces) and we ran the party booth in the foyer as well.

Anyhow, on to the important part – the pictures! We just finished the teaser, so it’s time to share some of our favorite frames – Enjoy:

Lovable Babies Family Portraits – Little Lana, Oakville, Ontario

Last Saturday I went to check on little Lana I photographed together with her mummy back in February – wow kids grow fast!! I have never met more generous and sharing child in my life – Lana graciously handed me pretty much everything she had in her possession including all her toys, books and I even got my own Blackberry back:) And it’s official now – her eyes are sky blue!

Claudia + Jason Wedding, Atlantis Pavilions, Toronto

We had one hectic weekend! Saturday was Claudia and Jason’s wedding at the Atlantis Pavilions (Ontario Place). The Ceremony was at St. Michael’s Cathedral in downtown Toronto. From there we took a limo bus to Joey restaurant in Eaton Centre for some pictures and snacks, then proceeded to Liberty Village for some additional pics with the bridal party (and their funky pink socks!).

Claudia and Jason’s wedding was truly a unique blend of Peruvian and Korean cultures. We had the pleasure of learning about traditional ceremonies, as well as, enjoying dance performances by both Korean and Peruvian entertainers. The reception was held at Atlantis which has one of the best views of the city. It also has one of the coolest rooftop patio spaces ever (I’m actually surprised it isn’t used more – I could see it being another Panorama during the summer )

Rebecca + Andrew Wedding, Estates of Sunnybrook, Toronto

Rebecca (a.k.a “The Blogger”) and Andrew (a.k.a “The Tech Wiz”) tied the knot at the beautiful Estates of Sunnybrook in Leaside this past Sunday. They opted for an afternoon reception followed by the traditional tea ceremony.

Their wedding was also officially the first time we did a daytime party booth! Typically, we never run the party booth before 9:30pm (to give the guests a chance to “loosen up” ), so we weren’t sure what to expect, but judging by the long lineup of guests waiting to partake, it was a total success!

Thanks for having us guys – it was a real pleasure!
