When Hanh and Jesse asked us to photograph their big day we were very excited. First of all, they picked one of our favorite venues – Palais Royale on Lake Shore Blvd, but we also enjoy a change of pace that the smaller, intimate weddings bring. We really felt like guests at this wedding thanks to loving people who made us feel right at home.
The view of Palais’ waterfront patio is truly breathtaking but what made this wedding even more picture perfect was the overall vibe of the entire day. It’s sometimes hard to explain what it is exactly that creates great pictures, but needless to say – Hanh and Jesse’s wedding definitely had it. Everything came together in a perfect wedding storm – the stunning bride, dreamy lighting, and vintage decor touches.
As we were preparing this post, we realized that we rarely post group photos on our site, which is a real shame because they often carry so much weight and emotion (such as the one we ultimately chose for this post). In fact group shots generally don’t get nearly as much attention on many photographers’ websites because there are so many other details from the day which usually steal the show. So our early New Year’s resolution was to make sure we always include at least one group shot in each blog post that we do.
